Finnish Music Legends Meet in Berlin

The two most acclaimed legends of Finish music scene Jori Hulkkonen and Jimi Tenor in Berlin

This Friday, March 27th, the two most acclaimed legends of Finish music scene Jori Hulkkonen and Jimi Tenor are going to present a science fiction epic called Nuntius.

 

Jori Hulkkonen is a Finnish DJ and a producer of house music, originally from Kemi, Finland. Hulkkonen started his career in the early 1990s when he worked with Jukka Hautamäki, Tuomas Salmela and Ari Ruokamo for their own label Lumi Records. Internationally, Hulkkonen's most popular recording is the single Sunglasses at Night, a version of Corey Hart's 1980s hit, created together with Canadian producer Tiga.

Jimi Tenor is also a Finnish musician. His band Jimi Tenor & His Shamans released its first album in 1988, whilst Tenor's first solo album appeared in 1994. He has released albums on Sähkö Recordings, Warp Records and Kitty-Yo record labels. Tenor has performed several times with the avant-garde big band Flat Earth Society.

Nuntius live performance is the music – movie collaboration between the two of them.  Each film screening will be followed by the live performance which makes this project and endless process. Both artists cite David Lynch's Eraserhead as one of their main influences for this particular project; Tenor also refers to Solaris by Tarkovsky, Alphaville by Godard and Fellini's Satyricon. As a unique blend of original pixels and sounds, is Nuntius is definitely worth of checking it out. After the film, a special party with surprises will be taking place.
