Fashion Trade Show Bread and Butter to Appear at New Locations

News from Berlin - Bread and Butter’s director Karl-Heinz Müller wants to revamp the fashion trade show, which was previously only showcased in Berlin twice a year. For the winter show other locations are being taken into retrospect.The future for the fashion trade show Bread & Butter in Berlin is now currently uncertain. According to Spanish newspapers the managers are negotiating for the trade show company to move to Barcelona, at least for the winter edition, to bring the biggest trade fair for jeans fashion back to Catalonia. Müller will first be giving a statement on the plans later today.

For the summer edition the trade show will however be staying in Berlin. The winter edition is to appear at different locations worldwide. There is talk of locations such as Barcelona, Seoul, Sao Paulo and Istanbul.Between 2005 and 2007 the winter edition of Bread & Butter was always showcased in Barcelona whereas the summer edition was always presented in Berlin. In 2008 the show completely moved to Spain before returning back to Berlin in 2009 to start a new fashion era at the Berliner location of the Tempelhof airport.

Müller signed a contract in Berlin till 2019 with the option to extend it. The contract had been completed at short notice through the support of the mayor Klaus Wowereit (SPD). The renting cost for the 61 000 square meters at Tempelhof which Müller books for 2 months a year is a secret. According to speculations the costs amount to 1.6 million euros a year.  Bread  & Butter remains an important economic trade fair and company for Berlin and Germany as a whole.
