EU Foreign Minister Makes His Way to Brussels

Steinmeier Back in The Hague

Ahead of the monthly meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council, Steinmeier comments on upcoming talks and the reality of Syrian talks

News from Berlin. The counsel of the Foreign Ministers of the EU met today in The Hague ahead of the planned conference on Wednesday. The conference agenda focuses on Syria, developments in Iran’s nuclear programme and the current situation in the Central African Republic (CAR).

The meeting sees the Foreign Ministers of all 28 EU states come together and discuss the largest global problems at the moment. Additionally German Foreign Minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, noted before today’s meeting that, the unrest in Ukraine will also be incorporated as a topic of discussion in light of the recent crisis.

Steinmeier also stated that they need be “very realistic” with how much is attainable relating to Syria and Wednesday’s conference.
