News from Berlin- On April 17th a short Slovak film will be presented at the International Short Film Festival in Dresden. Filmfest Dresden is taking place from April 15 to April 20  and is one of the most important festivals of its kind in Germany.  Slovakia will be represented with several short films, of which will be screened today.

After finishing secondary school, Adam Felix continued his education at the  Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where he studied at the Film and Television Faculty. During his studies he started producing films, with a special focus on Slovak provincial environments. This aspect is also reflected  in his film Trogár, which was shot in 2013.  The story is set in the author´s  hometown of Nitra, Slovakia. Trogár is a name for “bad boy” in Nitran dialect. It depicts the day- to- day life of a peculiar taxi driver and the characters and environment which affect his personality.

The film was awarded Best Film at the International Competition at the 7th International Student Film Festival in Cluj-Napoca, Romania in 2013.

The Slovak involvement in the festival is organized in collaboration with the Slovak Film Institute in Bratislava and with support of the Slovak Institute in Berlin.
