A delegation of football players who represented Pakistan in the ‘International Women’s Football Cultural Festival’ were received by the Ambassador of Pakistan to Berlin, His Excellency Mr. Jauhar Saleem. The Ambassador congratulated the team members of Karachi United for representing Pakistan in such an event abroad.
On 2nd September, H. E. Mr. Jauhar Saleem received the delegation of the women football team Karachi United, who had recently participated in the ‘International Women’s Football Cultural Festival’. Female football players from around ten countries took part in this event, which was organized by ‘Discover Football’ in Berlin.
H. E. Jauhar Saleem congratulated the team members of for representing Pakistan abroad in such an event and expressed his appreciation of their efforts to promote women’s football and grassroots development. The Ambassador encouraged the girls to carry on their excellent work at home and abroad.
The ‘International Women’s Football Cultural Festival’ is in its fifth year and includes workshops, training sessions and panel discussions. The main idea behind the program is to bring together women from all over the world through football. By showing its support towards the Pakistani women football team, the Embassy of Pakistan to Berlin is demonstrating that it understands the importance that sports play in promoting the country abroad. Furthermore, it is also proving that football can play a role in sustaining diplomatic relations with other countries.
