The Ambassador

Amb. Lee Kyung-soo

Amb. Lee Kyung-soo studied at the University of Cambridge where he obtained the Master’s degree in Philosophy and International Relations.

In 1981, Amb. Kyung-soo joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). In 1986, he was promoted as a consul at Korean Consulate General in Sydney. In 1998, Lee became the Director for Foreign Language Training Division at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security. In 1992, Amb. Kyung-soo became the First Secretary at the Korean Embassy in Singapore and in 1995 continued his works as a First Secretary at the Korean Embassy in Japan.

In 2000, Amb. Kyung-soo became the Counsellor for Korean Embassy in Hungary and in 2002 the Counsellor for Korean Embassy in Austria and Permanent Mission to the International Organizations in Vienna. In 2004 Amb. Kyung became the Deputy Director-General for Asian and Pacific Affairs Bureau in MOFAT and two years later, in 2006 he became the Minister-Counsellor for Korean Embassy in China. In 2007, Amb. Kyung-soo became the Director-General for South Asian and Pacific Affairs Bureau in MOFAT.

In 2009, Amb. Kyung-soo was accredited as the Ambassador to Cambodia. In 2010, Amb. Lee Kyung-soo became the Minister in Korean Embassy in Japan and in 2013, became the Deputy Minister for Political Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). The ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Germany, Amb. Kyung-soo was accredited on the 19th of May 2015.
