News from Berlin. Dimitris Rallis was born in 1952 in Athens, Greece. He studied law at the University of Athens. He speaks English, French and German.

In 1976, Rallis was admitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens, as an embassy attaché. From 1977 to 1981 he was the Secretary at the Embassy of Greece to the former German Democratic Republic. He then was a member of the Permanent Mission of Greece to the United Nations in New York from 1981 to 1987 and from 1986 to 1995, a member of the UN Committee on Contributions. He then worked as a Counsellor in the Embassy of Greece in Damascus, Syria. From 1998 to 1999 he was an Ambassador of the Embassy of Greece in Moscow. From May 2010, Rallis has been Ambassador of Greece in Berlin.
