Foreign Minister Maas on the 100th Anniversary of the International Labor Organization

The. International Labour Organisation (ILO) was founded in 1919, in the wake of a destructive war, to pursue a vision based on the premise that universal, lasting peace can be established only when it is based on social justice. The ILO became the first specialized agency of the UN in 1946.
For the past 100 years, the ILO has promoted the global social partnership. The Foreign Minister of Germany, Heiko Maas, proposes that especially Germany contributes a great deal to this social dialogue. Maas merges, that Germany’s economy is more closely integrated in global supply and value chains than almost any other economy. It also demands global economic sustainability in all social respects.
It is for this reason that we are working together with the International Labour Organisation on the urgent task that is making global supply chains fair, says Maas on the 100th anniversary of International Labour Organisation.
