Ambassador of Armenia spoke on the occasion of the 104th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

On April 27, a commemoration ceremony for the 104th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire took place in the Paulskirche in Frankfurt am Main. It was organized by the Central Council of Armenians in Germany (ZAD) and the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Germany, with the support of the Armenian Cultural Association in Hessen e.V.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia in the Federal Republic of Germany Ashot Smbatyan emphasized in his speech that one of the most important points of the resolution of the Bundestag of 2 June 2016 on the recognition of the genocide of the Armenians, the communication of the truth about the crimes against humanity in the 20th century. "Communicating the truth also has the goal of preventing such crimes in the future. And in this sense, the federal states have much to do ".

The young Armenian musicians Gur Sargsyan, Aida Avanesyan, Ani Badeyan and Zhora Sargsyan, who have traveled to Germany at the invitation of the Embassy of Armenia, have brought to a close during the commemoration musical pieces by Komitas and Arno Babajanyan.

At the end of the event held the primate of the diocese of the Armenian Church in Germany - Archimandrite Serovpé Isakhanyan, a closing speech and a prayer.
