The Classic Open Air Festival was founded in 1992 by the esteemed classical musician José Carreras. It was held at the Gendarmenmarkt, which is one of the most beautiful places in Germany. In 2016, this popular music festival will celebrate its 25th anniversary.

This year, the Classic Open Air Festival will last from the 21stof July until the 25th of July 2016. The classical music concert has the potential to reach a wide audience with its massive variety of classical music. The artistic scope of the festival extends from the so-called "Star" concerts to the so-called crossover concerts, in which pop, rock, or jazz music fuses with the classical orchestra. Hence the title of the festival is called "Classic" rather than "classical" to illustrate this bandwidth.

Surrounded by the classical music and modern melodies, the audience can also enjoy the neoclassical architecture of the concert hall, the French Cathedral and the German Cathedral, with transmitted light and fireworks. At the opening ceremony on Thursday there will be a musical staged firework display. Big fan of classical music? Tickets are available now. There are themes for every night:
